The City Council has entrusted you with an ambitious urban planning project: to renovate an entire city district. This is your chance to build new housing, office blocks, parks, and recreational areas along the waterfront. It’s up to you to make the city a better place!
Welcome to Cities, a city-building game that challenges you to design and organize the best urban development projects.
Renowned Designers and Artists
Collaboration between designers Steve Finn and Phil Walker-Harding, known for games like Sushi Go, Dungeon Raiders, and Cacao. The vibrant, detailed illustrations are the work of Jorge Tabanera, who has beautifully captured the essence and energy of urban life.
Game Setup
This game is perfect for groups of 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, with each game lasting approximately 40 minutes. Featuring mechanics of worker placement and pattern building, Cities takes you on a journey to visit and redesign some of the world’s most iconic cities, such as Sydney, London, New York, Barcelona, Rio, and more.
Game Rounds
Cities is played over 8 rounds (4 rounds in games with 2 players). In each round, players use their workers to claim a scoring card, a city
tile, one or two attribute tokens, and two to four construction tokens. The city tiles feature spaces for parks, water, and construction zones.
Building and Scoring
Construction pieces are placed on construction spaces of the corresponding color to form buildings ranging from 1 to 4 stories. Scoring cards and city achievement boards provide players with specific objectives to complete and earn points at the end of the game.
