Wingspan is a strategy and engine-building board game designed by Elizabeth Hargrave and published in 2019. Players take on the role of bird watchers and compete to attract the most valuable species to their wildlife reserves. Using bird cards, food, and eggs, they must optimize their actions to earn victory points. With beautiful aesthetics and high-quality components, Wingspan combines accessible mechanics with deep strategy.
Oceania Expansion
It includes a cooperative variant for two players that adapts the solo rules to allow a team of two to play against a game-controlled opponent. Designed by Elizabeth Hargrave, it features 95 new colorful and stunning birds from Oceania.
Packed with richly colored and interesting bird illustrations, the expansion introduces a new egg color, a new type of food, a new player mat, new bonus cards, and new end-of-round goals. To play, the Wingspan base game or the Asia expansion is required.
Illustrated by Natalia Rojas, Ana María Martínez Jaramillo, and Beth Sobel, featuring a charming, realistic, and naturalistic artistic style.
It includes an Automa for solo play, offering a fun single-player experience. The Automa simulates an opponent to compete against, while your gameplay remains the same. On the Automa’s turn, flip a card to see which action it takes.
