Ubongo Junior is the children's version of the well-known board game Ubongo. In the time it takes for an hourglass to empty, each player must place animal tiles on their templates, which depict the exact shape to be achieved.
The quickest to solve their template and shout "Ubongo!" will be the first to grab gems from the secret bag. At the end of the game, the player with the most gems will be the winner. Puzzle boards display two sides of different difficulty levels (requiring two or three animal tiles to be placed), allowing the game to be adapted for all ages.
All players will attempt to place the animals on their templates simultaneously and as quickly as possible. The fastest player must shout "Ubongo!" and can then keep a few gems from the bag.
However, the rest of the players won't stop; if they correctly place their animals on the template while there is still time on the clock, they will also earn some gems. At the end of the game, the player with the most gems will be declared the winner.
